Set up the action events log

The action events log records key details of action event emails. The log helps you to test action events when setting them up and troubleshoot any issues you or other users experience.

You can: 

  • Define the retention period for log entries. By default, the retention period is 14 days. You can change it to a value between 1 and 28 days.

  • Switch logging off by entering the retention period as 0.

  • Define when the batch job runs to purge log entries older than your retention period.

  • Purge all the existing log entries immediately.

To set up action events log: 

  1. Go to Setup, and in Quick Find enter installed and select Installed Packages from the search results.

  2. Select Configure for the Human Capital Management package.

  3. Scroll to the Action Events section.

  4. For Purge Action Event Batch Time, select the picklist and choose a time of day when you want the batch job to run.

  5. If you want to change the retention period, for Action Events Log Data Retention enter a value between 1 and 28 days.

    By default, the retention period is 14 days.

  6. Select Save.

To switch off logging: 

  1. Go to Setup, and in Quick Find enter installed and select Installed Packages from the search results.

  2. Select Configure for the Human Capital Management package.

  3. Scroll to the Action Events section.

  4. For Action Events Log Data Retention enter 0.

  5. Select Save.

Note If you don't set a time for the purge batch, logging remains inactive.
