Time Off colors

The Sage People Y25.2 release now allows you to use different colors in the WX Absence calendar. Admins can assign a calendar color category to an Absence Accrual Rule. You can use the same category color for multiple rules.

Five new colors are available to give you more options, while maintaining the accessibility of the calendar. The system defaults the category labels to the color name but you can customize these. The category labels are displayed in the WX category legend.

Enable the new colors

Note To use this feature, users will need either the Sage People HR Administrator fta or Sage People HR Manager fta permission set.
  1. Go to Setup and select Object Manager.

  2. Go to Absence Accrual Rule and select Page Layouts.

  3. Select your page layout.

  4. Drag the calendar category from the fields at the top to where you want it on the page layout.

  5. When creating a new absence or editing an existing one, you'll see the option to assign a color (this may take a few minutes to update).

  6. If no color is selected, the absence will use the default colors.

Note The system doesn't allow the addition of new colors in the picklist option, just the standard five. Users aren't able to change the orange (public holidays), green (vacation) or blue (absence) assignments.

Change the labels of absence categories

The picklist options determine the colors that display by default. System administrators can rename these options so users can select an absence type. This then displays with the assigned color.

  1. Go to Setup and select Object Manager.

  2. Go to Absence Accrual Rule and select Fields and Relationships.

  3. Select a calendar category and click on the global value set "Absence Category".

  4. Select Edit next any Value.

  5. Change the Label to the absence type you want for that color; leave the API name the same.

  6. Repeat for any remaining Values.
