HR Request wizard now generally available

The Sage People Y26.2 brings the general availability of HR Request wizard. It also delivers two new enhancements to give you greater flexibility and control over HR processes.

HR Request wizard gives a streamlined way for employees, managers, and HR teams to submit, manage, and track HR Requests. You can do this directly within the Sage People HR Portal.

Flexible approval options

Organizations can now configure the system to approve selected HR Request types automatically in specific scenarios. This helps reduce unnecessary approval steps and speeds up request processing. HR teams can simplify workflows where they don't always need formal approval, creating a more efficient experience for everyone.

To configure which users can bypass the approval process for an HR Request Type:

  1. Edit the relevant HR Request Type.

  2. Select the appropriate Skip Approval Access setting:

    • None (Default) – All requests continue through the configured approval process. This maintains current behavior

    • HR Only – HR managers can submit requests of this type without triggering the approval process

    • Manager and HR – Both managers and HR managers can submit requests of this type without triggering the approval process

    Important When you enable skip approval, the system bypasses the approval workflow entirely for all requests raised using that HR Request Type. The system won't execute any approval steps before it processes the request.

Greater control over HR Request visibility

Administrators can now control where individual HR Request types are available. They can tailor the experience to different audiences and business processes. You can configure HR Request types as:

  • Available in both HR Portal and Sage People Workspace (WX). Makes requests accessible to both HR teams and employees

  • Available in HR Portal only. Lets HR users manage HR-specific request types exclusively

  • Inactive. Removes request types from the request creation experience when you no longer need them

This flexibility helps organizations present only the most relevant request options to users. It reduces clutter, improves navigation, and supports a wider range of HR operating models.
