People Management Workflow | Field set mapping

Field set mapping enables you to replace an HR Request Type field set in People Management Workflow. Field set mapping is useful when different countries or groups of employees in your organization require slightly different sets of fields for the same kinds of employment change requests, such as promotions or contract changes.

To add a field set mapping:

  1. Create a replacement field set in the HR Request object.

  2. Go to Setup, and in Quick Find enter Installed Packages and select Installed Packages from the search results..

  3. Select Configure next to the HCM package.

  4. In the Fieldset Mapping section, select New.

  5. On the field set mapping detail page, enter details for the new mapping as follows:

    Field Description
Name A name for the field set mapping, displayed in the list of field set mappings.
Object Picklist. Select the picklist and choose HR Request.
Fieldset Picklist. Select the picklist associated with an HR Request Type where you want to replace the default field set.
Replacement Picklist. Select the picklist and choose the replacement picklist you created.
    Policy

Picklist. Select the picklist and choose policy where you want to use the replacement picklist.

If you select All, the field set mapping applies to all policies. You can achieve the same result by changing the field set associated with the HR Request Type.

    Team Member

    Manager

    Supervisor

    Mentor

    Project Manager

    Checkboxes.

Not used for field set mappings for HR Request Types, leave at default values.

  6. Select Save.
  7. Repeat the steps for any other field set mapping you want to add.

When a manager associated with the policy with the replacement field set creates a new employment change request using the HR Request Type with the mapped field set in, they see the fields from the replacement field set. If the Policy Override field in the manager's team member record is populated, this field is used to determine the policy assignment, otherwise it is the policy defined in the HR Department the manager belongs to.
