Absence balance reporting with the Hold Absence Balances batch

The Hold Absence Balances batch enables you to access Team Member vacation balance snapshot data for display through WX Reports and standard HCM reporting.

There are two configuration requirements before you can create a standard HCM report or a WX Report to display vacation balance data:

  • Create a Custom Report Type for the Absence Balances object.

    • Primary Object is Absence Balances.

    • If your organization uses vacation carry over, the Related (B) object is Absence Balance Carry Over.

      The nature of the relationship between the primary object and the B object depends on the way your organization handles Carry Over:

      If all Team Members have a Carry Over Balance choose Each "A" record must have at least one related "B" record.

      If Team Members may or may not have a Carry Over Balance choose "A" records may or may not have related "B" records.

  • Set a time for the Hold Absence Balances batch to run using the setting on the HCM Configure page:

    Setting Description
    Hold Absence Balances

    Picklist and Run Now button. Used to calculate and store Team Member absence balances for all Vacation type absence rules. Values are stored in the Absence Balances object:

    • Vacation taken.

    • Annual allowance.

    • Annual allowance pro rata.

    • Next accrual.

    • Available carry over.

    • Accrual.

    • Carry over.

    • Time off in lieu.

    • Year end balance.

    • Year end carry over

    • Year end time off in lieu.

    Absence Balances stores a single set of values - subsequent batch runs overwrite existing values and no historical data is held.
