WX self-service picklist options deactivated for Internal Communications

With the move to the revised WX self-service portal some tile type options for Internal Communications services become irrelevant and are no longer supported under the new interface:

  • External Website

  • HTML

  • KYP Game

  • Rich Text

If you have not yet upgraded to the revised WX self-service portal any Internal Communications services configured to use one of these tile types will continue to work.

If you have not edited the Tile Type field on the Internal Communication object in your org, upgrading to the latest version of Sage People HCM automatically deactivates these tile type options and you need take no further action.

If you have edited the Tile Type field, for example by changing displayed values or deactivating options, upgrading cannot automatically deactivate values and you must do so manually. Deactivating the values removes them from the list of available tile types when creating a new Internal Communication service and stops selection of unsupported options.

To deactivate the tile types manually:

  1. Go to Setup and select the Object Manager tab.

  2. In the Object Manager, in Quick Find enter Internal and then select Internal Communication from the list of displayed object labels.

  3. On the Internal Communication page select Fields & Relationships.

  4. On the Fields & Relationships page in Quick Find enter Tile and then select the Tile Type field label.

  5. On the Tile Type page scroll down to the Values section.

  6. Select the Action checkbox for each of these tile types:

    • External Website

    • HTML

    • KYP Game

    • Rich Text

  7. Select Deactivate Selected at the head of the list.

    You are asked to confirm.

  8. Select OK.

  9. Check the values have moved from the Values section to the Inactive Values section.

  10. You can now close the object manager.
